Escuela Dilicia Fernandez will be the 50th school

Escuela Dilicia Fernandez will be the 50th school

In 2008, the two-story wooden structure, where classes take place, was severely damaged by an earthquake. There are numerous cracks in the walls and unstable floors. The community is worried that it may collapse at any moment if a storm or earthquake were to hit. There are two other brick classrooms apart of the school; however, they are not sufficient for all 260 students.

The community in La Lima and the organization signed the convenio (agreement) to begin the construction of 3 more classrooms. We’re beyond excited to celebrate the ground breaking of our 50th school with this community who has shown much patience, dedication, and hope for their students.

Lastly, we wanted to express our deepest gratitude. To every person that has been with us from School 1, School 25 and now 50, we’re beyond lucky to celebrate this milestone with you.
